The Allamanda has an excellent heat tolerance and long-season bloom -- as well as the fact that Allamanda grows well in both containers and landscapes. Grow Allamanda in containers either by itself, with other tropical plants (such as elephant's ears), or with heat-loving annual flowers such as Angelonia. (We think its yellow flowers are a wonderful accent to plants that have purple flowers or foliage!) In frost-free climates, large Allamanda varieties are grown as vines or hedges (depending on the type).
